Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the Wings Middle School Wolverine Band! We are so happy that you have chosen to be part of an organization with a long tradition of Musical Excellence.
General Band Objectives:
1. Teach the basic fundamentals of playing a musical instrument at the highest level.
2. Teach students how to set short and long-term goals, as well as to achieve them.
3. Teach self-discipline
4. Build self-confidence
5. Develop teamwork and leadership among all of our band students.
Our focus is to provide our students with tools they can use outside of our classroom to be successful members of society.
As you progress through your different levels of musicianship, please be aware that it is a lot of hard work. Most of the times it is fun, but occasionally it may be frustrating. All great musicians go through high and low times in their musical development. Always focus on the positive while you find ways to fix the negative. We are always here to make sure every student gets the help needed to succeed in band.
Communication between students, teachers and parents is very important to us. Do not hesitate to call or email us whenever you have a question or concern. If you need to speak to us in person, please make sure that you sign in at the front office and that you set up a personal conference with the Band Director. We are here to help your child be the best that he or she can be. We will be using the BAND App in order to communicate with students and parents.
Once again, thank you for choosing to be a part of the Wiggs Middle School Wolverine Band. We are looking forward to a great school year full of music making!
